Taylor Gentry was born and raised in Norther Illinois on the banks of the Mississippi river. He studied film production at the University of Iowa. Taylor has filmed and contrubied to several award winning documentaries both long and short form. A few of his notable documentary projects are Driftless: Stories from Iowa which was nominated for an Emmy Award. An episode of the Netflix original series, Rotten: Cod is Dead. He has also found a niche filming stylized dramatic recreation content, creating recreation imagery for several television series including Season 6 of Oprah's Masterclass for OWN, multiple seasons of Mysteries at the Museum for Travel Channel. The latest season of Celebrity Ghost Stories (season 5). He has filmed a long list of series for Discovery ID including Scorned: Love Kills, 6 Degrees of Murder, Deadliest Decade, and many more. Most recently Taylor notched his first credit as director on the recreations for The Murder Tapes also for Discovery ID. Taylor moves easily between verité documentary and scripted projects as he finds both to be rewarding in different ways and also appreciates how they two modes inform one another.
